Under Construction

We're having technical difficulties today and will be rebuilding our system for a bit. In the mean time here are some raw deep links to keep you informed:

1. CDC Measles — same number, new controversy

  • Still 3,134 confirmed as of Sept 3 (Sept 4 update) at https://www.cdc.gov/measles/data-research/ — but CDC now adds note: death definition under review with CSTE. 2 PA infant deaths reported Aug 25 are not included in total while under review. Also new Atlanta daycare cluster now 8 cases, Wisconsin tops 140.

2. HAN Rabies — NEW national alert

3. NC Mobile Petting Zoo — updated to PEP

  • Still 284 evaluated, but state now says >260 PEP recommended (Sept 9-10). County alerts from Mecklenburg, Rowan, Durham remain live.

4. Foodborne — 2 active, 1 new

5. Ebola Bundibugyo — major climb

       SitRep Sep. 9

        Translating from SitRep:

"For the day of September 9, 2026, 99 new confirmed cases of Ebola Virus Disease (EVD), including 29 community deaths, were reported. The confirmed cases are distributed across the provinces of Ituri (47 cases), North Kivu (46), and Haut-Uélé (6). A total of 10 in-treatment-center (ETC) deaths were unfortunately recorded, including 7 in Ituri, 2 in North Kivu, and 1 in Haut-Uélé, bringing the daily total number of deaths to 39.

Additionally, 36 patients were declared cured after obtaining two negative EVD test results (32 in Ituri, 2 in Tshopo, 1 in Haut-Uélé, and 1 in North Kivu).

A cumulative total of 6,942 confirmed cases, including 3,349 deaths, has been recorded in the DRC since the beginning of the outbreak up to September 9, 2026, representing a case fatality rate of 48.2%. Ituri remains the epicenter, concentrating 79.3% of the confirmed cases reported across the 6 affected provinces as well as 47.5% of the new confirmed cases over the past 24 hours.

No new health zones were affected over the past 24 hours. Consequently, 61 out of 151 health zones (40.4%) remain affected across the 6 impacted provinces. Ituri has 28 affected health zones out of 36, followed by North Kivu (16/34), Haut-Uélé (6/13), Tshopo (7/23), South Kivu (1/34), and Bas-Uélé (3/11)."

6. Video candidates verified

  • Rabies: CDC COCA Call https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8rfATOPdEE — official CDC channel, matches HAN topic — playable, institutional, usable.
  • Ebola: Africa CDC Special Briefing Sept 10 — search YouTube for "Special Briefing on Ebola Outbreak Response Sept 10 2026" — Africa CDC channel — institutional, usable once ID confirmed.

7. Akregator quiet flags

  • Category 1,2,3 active. Category 4 (county zoonotic) quiet except NC + HAN — no new tularemia/plague/anthrax county .gov press releases Sept 2-11. Not necessarily broken, but flag as quiet.
